Governor of the Astrakhan Region familiarized himself with the construction progress of the cruise liner

On July 24 Alexander Zhilkin, governor of the Astrakhan region, visited shipbuilding yard “Lotos”(included into USC) where works on construction of cruise liner of PV300 VD project are in full progress.

Hull of the vessel is already formed on 40%. Parallel middlebody is fully completed. The works are performed on forward end and aft end. Shipbuilders proceeded to assembling and welding of the vessel superstructure. “According to the schedule we must complete hull works in autumn and after that we will proceed to installation of equipment, vessel systems and electrical part” – Dmitry Antonov, temporary acting general director, declared.

Alaxander Zhilkin pointed out the work of shipbuilders and expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of works. “The works are going as per the schedule, the project is new for the country. And it is very great that the yard got this experience. When the liner is launched, so undoubtedly the interest of the Caspian Bordering Countries to it will multiply increase. “ – the head of the region noted.

An official ceremony of laying of the cruise passenger vessel bottom section of PV300VD project took place on “Lotos” shipbuilding yard on August 15, 2016. The start of the vessel construction was made by Vladimir Putin, president of the Russian Federation, who conducted a State Council Presidium Meeting regarding development of inland water ways in Russia at that moment in Volgograd. Vessels of such class have not been constructed in Russia more than 60 years.

Moscow River Shipping Company is the Client of the four-deck liner with length 141 m, width 16,5 m and capacity more than 300 passengers.
