Construction of a cruise liner at Astrakhan shipyard “Lotos” is carried out according to the schedule.

Late November “Lotos” shipyard (included into USC) concluded a Contract on supply of the rolled metal. High-quality material for construction of PV300VD cruise liner was manufactured at the enterprises of “Severstal” holding company.

On August 15, 2016 at “Lotos” shipyard an official ceremony was held for laying of the cruise passenger vessel bottom section of a mixed river-sea navigation type, PV300VD project. Vessels of such a class have not been constructed in Russia for more than 60 years.

Construction was started via video-conference by President Vladimir Putin, who at that moment held the State Council presidium session in Volgograd on the issues of the Russian inland waterways development. USC vice-president for the civil shipbuilding, Yevgeny Zagorodny, reported to the Russian leader about the passenger vessel readiness for construction. Together with the temporarily acting General Director of the yard, Dmitry Antonov, he fixed a commemoration board on a built vessel section.

The «Moscow Inland Navigation Company» is the client of 141 m long and 16,5 m wide four-deck liner, with capacity of 300 passengers. Construction of the first passenger vessel is planned to be completed in 2018, and its hand-over to the client – by beginning of navigation in 2019. The liner is planned to be used on routes of the Caspian Sea states.
