Finnish delegation visited the USC enterprises in Astrakhan

On December 13-14, as part of the Russian-Finnish business forum “Collaboration in the area of high technologies for development of shipbuilding and offshore production in the Astrakhan region”, the delegation headed by Mikko Hautala, an Ambassador of Finland to Russia, got acquainted with manufacturing facilities of the Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Organization and Lotos shipyard.

Aleksey Zhidakov, General Director of “Caspian Energy” companies group, told to the guests about a potential of Group’s enterprises and about important projects performed by the company in different years during construction of the ice-resistant fixed platform for Filanovsky field (LSP-1). Wide competencies of the company in manufacturing of the equipment for offshore fields development attracted a special interest of the delegation.

At “Lotos” yard the guests had a walk around the workshops. A temporarily acting General Director, Dmitriy Antonov, showed to the delegation a metal-processing shop put into operation. It is equipped with modern grit blasting and passivation lines ROSLER, as well as with thermal cutting lines for rolled metal RUM-4500. By 2020 the shop will process over 50 thousand tonnes of metal. Besides, the delegation got acquainted with the shipbuilding process.   

Representatives of Finnish equipment manufacturers presented their products. In his turn the ambassador of Finland expressed his hope for long-term cooperation between Astrakhan shipbuilding companies and Finnish business.
