The head of the RF Government Vladimir Putin visited the ice-resistant fixed platform for the field at the Caspian Sea.

Today in the frames of the official visit to Astrakhan the head of the RF Government Vladimir Putin visited Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association (ASPO) which enters into the Group of Companies “Caspian Energy”. The delegation headed by Vladimir Putin viewed the production site where the ice-resistant fixed platform (LSP-1) is constructed for the development of the Y.Korchagin field developed by the oil company “LUKOIL”. LSP-1 will be the first ice-resistant oil platform at the Caspian Sea.

As saying general director of CNRG Group Ilya Kokarev who was the member of the delegation: “realization of the LSP-1 construction in Astrakhan is a strategically important stage in the development of the Russian shipbuilding industry, increases competitive positions of native producers at the market of offshore shipbuilding and provides several thousands of people with work”.

Workers of Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association in their talk with the Prime-minister said that they are waiting new orders from oil companies. In his turn the head of oil company “LUKOIL” Vagit Alekperov told that the nearest time four large fields at the Caspian Sea are planned to be developed.
