09.08.16 the ice-resistant platform (LSP-1) was installed in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. LSP-1 is the main facility of the development of the Y.Korchagin field.  The general (EPCI) contractor for creation of the first Russian ice-resistant oil-producing platform – CNRG Group – completes the project which is unique for Russian shipbuilders.

For the very first time a Russian company participated in realization of such a project on a “turnkey basis” – from design, engineering and procurement, through to construction and installation in the Sea. The construction and commissioning works at LSP-1 are planned to be fully completed till the end of October 2009.    Management and fulfillment of installation works was made by the company “Crane Marine Contractor” which represents the service division of CNRG Group. LSP-1 has been constructed during about 3 years at Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association. The steel structure of 16 500 mt weight made of the hull of the floating semi-submersible drilling rig “Shelf-7” includes drilling, process and power systems as well as a block of shipboard equipment.

As saying the governor of Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin: “construction of such an object at the Astrakhan wharf  in the terms of high competing with large foreign companies is honor of the region and of the Russian shipbuilding industry in total. We proved that we are competitive at the world market of the offshore shipbuilding”.  During the construction process which started in 2006 there were up to 4,5 thousands of people working on the project, both engineering and construction personnel. And about 2,2 billions of rubles were paid as taxes to the regional and federal budgets.
